It is the world’s most slothful Pokémon. However, it can exert horrifying power by releasing pent-up energy all at once.

Apparently, a Slaking V has been leaked for Pokemon GO! It’ll mark Slaking’s first-ever multi prize card :)

Looks like this “Rout” attack first appears in Gen 8. Did it have a different translation prior to this??

Back in Generation 3, RS Slaking (and its PK reprint, and its CES Retrain) had the attack Critical Move; its original attack name was はめつのいちげき [𝐇𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐬𝐮 𝐧𝐨 𝐈𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐤𝐢]. It’s the いちげき [𝐈𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐤𝐢] part that’s interesting here, because all Single Strike Pokémon in the original edition of the game have the tag いちげき [𝐈𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐤𝐢] on their card where the EN edition has “Single Strike”. It’s something of a missed opportunity they didn’t bring the Critical Move attack here – even though it would’ve been lost in translation¹.

¹ See also: Single Strike Morgrem, with its attack はかいのいちげき [𝐇𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐢 𝐧𝐨 𝐈𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐤𝐢].
