It is always vacantly lost in thought, but no one knows what it is thinking about. It is good at fishing with its tail.

I guess this one has recycled art like Tauros does. The OG Miki Tanaka card!

Not just recycled art — virtually everything is the same as its original Fossil version! 🥰 🥰

There’s one very important difference between this card and Slowpoke FO. The original could recover ANY type of Trainer card, which is important, because it is most viable in a Prop 15/3 deck (https://jklaczpokemon.com/prop-15-3/#scavenge-lock) discovered by Jason Klaczynski in late 2024, which pairs it with (The Rocket’s Training Gym)[https://pkmncards.com/card/the-rockets-training-gym-gym-heroes-g1-104/], one of the original Stadium cards.

I have to wonder if this Slowpoke was deliberately nerfed or if the people designing it genuinely didn’t double check whether or not the original could grab Stadiums and Supporters. I certainly don’t think the card needed to be rebalanced… even if the fine folks at Pokémon Card Labs were regretting making Sableye DEX as strong as they did (And regretting it about FIVE YEARS before it got banned from Expanded), the original Slowpoke would STILL have been outclassed by Bunnelby PRC, who could recover more cards of a wider variety in a single turn for fewer and less type-specific Energy. Yes, Bunnelby didn’t put the cards into your HAND, but thinning your deck was SUPER easy, so you’d have no trouble looping cards if you really wanted to do it!

(The funny theory: maybe they didn’t want to make the original Fossil Slowpoke legal again because its 2x weakness multiplier wasn’t written on the card.)

Whoops! I had my parentheses and my square brackets mixed up for The Rocket’s Training Gym! Well, I guess now you all know how these hyperlinks are made! I was taught how to do it in the comments section of Single Strike Urshifu VMAX BRS TG29!
