I’m a little biased since I happen to own it, but this card is severely underrated. I’m of the impression that the Rainbow Rarity was introduced in SM for thematic purposes – lights/rainbows are a matter of significance to the legendary Pokémon in the storyline of the Sun and Moon video games – and it all comes together in this card, with the box legendaries and the (real) main character of the games all together on a card gleaming with every visible color.
While RR has overstayed its welcome for a lot of people, don’t let it distract you from one of the coolest cards in the entire TCG – Rainbow Rarity was created so this card could exist in all its glory.

If they decide to sunset rainbow rares in Gen 9, then here’s a fun fact: virtually every Gen 1 mascot Pokémon has appeared in rainbow form (Pikachu VMAX, Gyarados-GX, etc) except for the original 3 Eveelutions!
Jolteon, Vaporeon, and Flareon have all been GX and V cards but may escape the rainbow unscathed.
