    Maybe it’s the way this is colored, but this artwork really reminds me of …something. I think this artwork is an allusion to some poster or concept art from either an anime or video game or film or something…. it’s like I know what it is but I’m stumped to actually say what it is. I hope someone else has an idea what I’m talking about, because it’s been bugging me for a while now.

      Attempting this link again. Keiko Fukuyama did a series of postcards, one of which had a very similar setting to this.

    This is maybe the first time I’ve ever seen Staryu look like an actual creature with a personality instead of a weird polygon – there’s nothing wrong with being a weird polygon of course, but he’s so cute here!
