Celestial Storm’s Hydro Fury theme deck takes the new theme deck motif of “Consistency and Abilities” and cranks it up to 11. Every evolution line in this deck has an Ability, in most cases a consistency Ability (With Abomasnow UPR being the outlier). Between Swampert’s Power Draw, Magcargo CES‘s Smooth Over, and Delcatty CES‘s Search for Friends, this deck kind of resembles a Standard format Zoroark GX/Tapu Lele GX decks of the period. This wealth of consistency Abilities comes at the expense of leaving Swampert as the only viable attacker in the deck outside of a single Frost Rotom UPR, but the deck at least seems to have been designed with this in mind, with Abomasnow’s Blessings of the Frost and The Masked Royale (The latter of which can be recovered up to two times by Delcatty] making it easier to supercharge multiple Swampert. Plus, you can always set up a second Frost Rotom and/or third Swampert with the help of Rescue Stretcher and Lure Ball CES.
