When you really, really, REALLY have to evolve your pokemon.
On the plus side, this has a leg-up on rare candy because it allows you to immediately evolve into a pokemon (without even having the evolution in your hand) with an important control ability. You also get a free chance to attach an energy to one of your pokemon.
The expended turn is bad, but it’s a good card if you’re using it properly.

Seriously, something like this NEEDS a reprint. It would be broken, of course, but considering that Stage 2’s still struggle, they need something to keep up with EX’s.
