It communicates with others of its kind by lighting up the red orbs on its head. When the orbs are blinking, it’s a warning sign.

Tentacruel, like Sandslash (along with many Bug and Flying types) used to be printed with zero retreat cost fairly often, but now they never do. I guess there are better candidates for zero retreat, but it’s a shame to see that bit of consistency gone.
