I can only imagine a comically intimidating pokemon (Aggron, Mewtwo, Machamp, etc) armed with a high-energy cost version of plead that consists of a brutally painful choice.
Plead: CCCCC.
Ask your opponent if you may search your deck for three cards and put them into your hand. If yes, do so. If no, ask your opponent if he or she will discard his or her hand. If yes, he or she discards his or her hand. If no, the defending pokemon is knocked out.
When Mewtwo begs you to help him, you better listen.
