{R}{R} → Gritty Claws : 40
During your opponent’s next turn, if this Pokémon has full HP and would be Knocked Out by damage from an attack, it is not Knocked Out, and its remaining HP becomes 10.

When its mane is standing on end, you can tell it’s feeling good. When it isn’t feeling well, its fur will lie down flat.

A couple Q&As regarding Torracat’s attack on pokemon-card.com;
𝑄. When my opponent’s Shifty used Fan Tornado, my Torracat, which was under the effect of the Gritty Claws attack, took more damage than its HP. If the effect of Fan Tornado forces Torracat to return to the Bench, is it Knocked Out?
𝐴. Yes it is.
[I reckon this is a fair question as it’s a pretty tricky one involving the order of steps of resolving an attack’s effects? To elaborate on this scenario a bit more, Torracat would’ve just used Gritty Claws and had full HP, and your opponent uses LOR Shiftry’s Fan Tornado and is somehow doing 80 or more damage (let’s assume it has Fire-Resistant Gloves attached). In normal circumstances, rather than being KOed, Torracat would be left with 10 HP thanks to the effect of Gritty Claws, but because Fan Tornado sends it to the Bench, the effect of Gritty Claws is ‘reset’ and Torracat is Knocked Out.]
𝑄. When the opponent’s Giratina V uses Shred against a Torracat with full HP that is under the effect of Gritty Claws, and so Torracat takes more damage than remaining HP, does Torracat become knocked out?
𝐴. No. In this case, Torracat remains in play with 10 HP remaining.
[Shred states the damage of the attack isn’t affected by any effects on the opponent’s Active Pokémon. Gritty Claws isn’t doing anything to affect the damage of Shred, so there’s no problem here. To put it another way: Gritty Claw isn’t saying “”Shred does 70 damage instead of 160″” but rather “”Shred does 160 damage, but you get to remain alive with just 10 HP remaining.”]
