    1. Use Garchomp Lv. X to Restore Torterra
    2. Attach Expert Belt
    3. Level up Shaymin into Shaymin Lv. X
    4. Play Snowpoint Temple
    5. Still get one-shot by Reshiram and Lucario GL.

Interestingly, just over half of all Torterra cards ever printed were released during its debut generation. What’s even more interesting is the fact that every single gen 4 Torterra is playable. From a 2008 rogue deck with a poor Gardevoir matchup but the best Empoleon matchup of all, to a 2009 deck that’s fun to play even if it didn’t win any events, to one of the top ten decks of the 2010 format, 2007 was the only year of this era where Torterra was seemingly neglected.
What ties every other gen 4 Torterra together is Torterra Lv.X. It provides a valuable defensive buff, free built-in Counter Catchers, and a mighty move that can set up a future KO or even potentially enable two prize turns. It takes already solid Torterra makes them even more flexible… gotta love it when your attacker has three attacks and a Poké-Power to choose between.
I’ll eventually have comments posted under all the other gen 4 Torterra cards documenting this line’s illustrious history… well, illustrious for a while. Torterra BRS and Torterra ex can make for fun meme decks, but not many Pokémon species have fallen off quite as hard in the TCG.
