Hiroaki Ito is/was a manager and designer at Creatures Inc., and it’s hardly surprising to see him contributing to the first e-Reader related set in the series, since the e-Reader was very much Creatures’ pet project. What is maybe less surprising than I thought it was is to notice yet another case of what I’d normally refer to as a “CG artist” contributing ‘2D’ artwork to the TCG. He’s also credited with the Electabuzz in this set, and then goes uncredited until Skuntank in DP, which is more in line with what I’d expect from Creatures staff in that it’s a CG artwork. His credits on Creatures projects include Pokédex 3D through to other games – up to at least 2016ish? – so it’s likely he also contributed to, but goes uncredited by name, on at least a few 5ban Graphics cards.
