As commented over on 𝗖𝗚 #𝟭𝟳/𝟭𝟬𝟬 Dusclops, during Gens 3-4 Himeno’s illustrations featured a lot of Pokemon standing at horizontal angles. The art is kinda disorienting and I’m glad he abandoned it in Gen 5.

I quite like it, but my personal thoughts aside, I really don’t think he ever stopped – by way of example, the most recent set, Lost Origin, features two cards doing the same thing.
