Unown A · 40 HP · {P}
Pokémon (Unown) › Basic

Pokémon Power ⇢ [Anger]
Whenever 1 of your Pokémon with Unown in its name uses its Hidden Power attack, that attack does 10 more damage for each damage counter on Unown A. If you have more than 1 Unown A in play, use only 1 [Anger] for each attack.

{P} → Hidden Power : 10

weak: {P}×2 | resist: n/a | retreat: 1
· Unown rule: You may have up to 4 Basic Pokémon cards in your deck with Unown in their names.

Their shapes look like hieroglyphs on ancient tablets. It is said that the two are somehow related.

    I haven’t had an opportunity to crunch through all the Neo-era Unown and start speculating on whether there’s anything in particular that the Powers might be borrowing from (i.e. the way the EX UF Unown are all borrowing their attack effects from previous attacks whose name start with the same letter as the Unown using them), but a comment made on another card made me realize [Anger] is actually borrowing this ‘added damage for each damage counter’ from the mechanic of the Rage attack.

    Maybe not coincidentally, the Japanese name of Rage, いかり, can indeed be translated as Rage, but it could be translated as anchor. Uh, anchor probably has nothing to do with it, but I’m sure “anger” is also an acceptable translation. I kind of doubt it, as my impression is the Neo-era powers were made up on the spot to have effects matching the Unown Mode word, but I might try and test the theory out that at least some of their Powers are deliberately borrowing from attacks that are letter-related.
