Unown never appears in the Gen 5 TCG.
I wonder if TPCi was like, “uh yeah… we’re not gonna make individual cards for (almost) every. single. Unown. all over again!” And so with HGSS-onward, we get these fun multi-Unown cards.

Considering how large sets now anyways, I actually would’ve preferred they kept going with the gimmick. I find the new approach to Unown to be more than a little underwhelming.

The alternative win condition ones from Lost Thunder were conceptually fantastic (and have very lovely artwork), but then the two that had any actual competitive merit got banned anyway. Would be neat to get individual Unown cards back with game-bending Abilities contingent on certain letter combos, merging the Lost Thunder style with the classic Neo style.
