People thought that Mega Pokemon would replace Pokemon EX, creating a metagame that would be more friendly to evolutions…
but the devs would have none of that. Mega evolutions MUST be played on top of Pokemon EX. Now players will have to place ultra rares on top of ultra rares in order to compete. Patently absurd, elevating the expense of chase-rare EX lines to Jace Beleren levels.

And, given that the EX HP threshold hasn’t lowered, we may be looking at what are essentially Stage 1s with 200+ HP, probably around the 210-230 range. Even with the need to end your turn immediately, that’s just way too much power to get out that easily.

Don’t forget that mega evolving doesn’t count as attacking…so the t1 rules erata can essentially be circumvented.

Not necessarily. As far as I can tell from what we know already, mega evolving is still evolving.

wow. I got caught so up in a supposed ability to evade one clause that I forgot about a more fundamental one.
Also, lol @ this thing’s evolution. It’s basically a scaled up Articuno EX.
