Play the Truth while you can, before Raikou kills it!!!!

Just kidding, play what you feel is the best choice.

Haha, I will be running Truth EX for states simply due to the fact that I don’t have access to 2 Mewtwo and that Truth is the deck I’ve tested the most. I’m not expecting much, but it will be nice to play Vileplume one last time =)

Thanks, I went 4-3 losing 2 games to misplays, it’s still a very complex deck to run =/

I played three games with my for-fun BearPlume build vs. a Donphan Prime / Lucario NXD.
The first game I went second and failed to get a Bear out. His BTS T1 Donphan dropped 60’s all over and I failed to catch up (also failed to draw one of my three Twins).
The next two games were very different. I established a T2 Plume (never once with Rare Candy sadly) both times and got Serperior and Dodrio out soon after. Donphan’s Water weakness and high Retreat worked well will Beartic and his 100 HP Lucario’s just couldn’t do enough damage to stick. :)

I’m worried about not getting a T2 Plume from lack of Candy. BTS was doing all the work for my deck. hmm…

With the current format, all vileplume decks need 4 candy =/ unless you go super reliant on twins. Nice job though man, Donphan and most other anti-meta decks die so hard to Vileplume! XD

LOL. Yeah it was fun. Thanks.
I did decide to up Candy to 4 after today’s match. Twins is set to 3.

Ancient Origins Vileplume was the mini version of this… 💐💐💐

They’re pretty interchangeable, actually. Ancient Origins has 10 more HP in exchange for one more retreat cost, but the abilities are exactly the same (aside from this one technically being a PokéBody and thus immune to ability-nullifying effects).

Keep in mind, gen 4 was weird about its terminology. All Item cards were called “Trainers”, and Supporters and Stadiums were a separate classification entirely. The current system of Trainer as an umbrella term with Items within it didn’t get established til gen 5.

Dark Vileplume, on the other hand, does indeed block every Trainer card in the game. Gen 1, 2, and 3 have yet *another* terminology system, more similar to the current one — just without Items as an explicitly named subclass.

You know, this card is actually better than https://pkmncards.com/card/vileplume-ancient-origins-aor-3/ now, since it can still stop opponent’s from playing Pokémon Tools. Once Trainer-Items and Trainer-Tools were split at the start of the Scarlet and Violet era, https://pkmncards.com/card/garbodor-breakpoint-bkp-57/ could turn off Vileplume AOR’s Ability AFTER it came into play. But not only does Garbotoxin not turn off Poké-Powers and Poké-Bodies, but one of the best cards that DOES, Cessation Crystal, is a Tool card, so THIS Vileplume is safer from being shut down (Theoretically you could even pair it with Garbodor).
Normal Unlimited is too fast for any of this to matter, but in the Eternal format (Unlimited with a fan-made, 177 card ban list, which I can assure you isn’t overkill), these seem like important interactions to consider.

That Vileplume is a warlock! Casting a spell in a secluded area!
