Volbeat · 70 HP · {G}
Pokémon (Volbeat) › Basic

{G} → Illumisile
If you don’t have Illumise in play, this attack does nothing. Choose 1 of your opponent’s Benched Pokémon. This attack does 30 damage to that Pokémon. (Don’t apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.)

{G}{C}{C} → Firefly Light : 30
The Defending Pokémon is now Burned and Confused.

It emits light from its tail to communicate. It loves the sweet aroma given off by Illumise.

    This has to be a contender for one of the funniest attack names. The mental imagery it conjures is immaculate. We always talk about Everybody Explode Now but we don’t talk about a Volbeat punting an Illumise at an opposing Pokémon

    Volbeat and Illumisile (sorry–Illumise) must be very satisfying Pokémon for collectors: they’ve always appeared in the same set, with the same rarity, with artwork by the same illustrator. Heck, since the numbering change of the BW era, they’ve even sat next to each other in the set lists! Not even Plusle and Minun have had the same consistency as these two (their artworks have been done by differing illustrators in recent years).
