The past you wasn’t ignorant, it just didn’t predict what Wailord-EX would eventually become. There have been tons of times where a card is considered ‘garbage’ and then it becomes the most broken thing imaginable. Look at Crobat PHF for reference: It saw literally no competitive hype, then Landobats became a thing, and now it’s the strongest Stage 2 in the format next to Archie’s Empoleon!
