Well, they did their best to justify this as a grass type. Notice the grassy swamp and the green-hued art.

Purple suited Poison better as colour since every pure Poison type was purple and every Poison type was either purple or in the colour of their other type*, but Grass suited Poison better as TCG type since Grass/Poison and Bug/Poison where very common and every Grass type except 1 was Grass/Poison. So they had to choose whether to give the Poison type the best fitting colour or the best fitting TCG type.

*The Nido’s are a notable exception but even they are purple together since one is blue and the other is pink and when mixed together those 2 colours give a purple-like colour that is fitting for a poison type.

I never noticed it, but Fossil has a lot of evolutions without the corresponding basics.

That’s because Base Set had so many Pokemon that didn’t evolve, and they didn’t want to make their expansions too big at first.
      Imagine that?

Lol, I find it funny that TWO sets with 180+ Pokémon only had Gen 1 and 2 Pokémon in it!

OK, now there’s a 3rd Set with over 180 mon in and the 3rd one has Gen 3 and Gen 7 mon.

Fun fact: the next time we get a Weezing card with recoil damage *equal to its own HP* is in EX Deoxys.
