These BW era full art cards are so dynamic, interesting, and intentional. Really makes me wonder why the modern full art (not illustration rare) cards we get are so lifeless and generic. 90% of them just have the subject rendered standing there in the most generic awkward pose of all time with an incredibly boring and simple background.

I never really liked full arts, even in the BW era but looking at the most recent outing, stuff like Luxray and Blissey ex…. yeah I can totally see the appeal of these old ones. And now they’re way out of my price range!

The BW full arts look even better in person (especially the Japanese versions, which have more texture). I hope that in Gen 10 they just phase out full art cards entirely haha
