Given the PROFOUNDLY limited pool of fairies available, (even after the expansion,we’re only at 11, with a 12th from a beginner set that does not even count) as well as the PROFOUNDLY limited amount of pokemon with [Y] weaknesses,as well as the lack of an appropriate blend energy or any extant form of type-exclusive support, a fairy type EX would have to be very, very good to merit deckspace as an EX (especially when it has an attack that costs YYCC).

Xerneas is nice on the surface, but I don’t think it really performs up to those lofty expectations. I wouldn’t be quick to sell it short, though. Break Through synergizes with x-blast quite nicely,as the majority of all EXs will fall to X-blast after getting hit from break Through while on the bench. The few that can survive can be sent packing with a stray hypnotoxic laser.

I think the creators are pushing for a very specific deck for the introduction to Fairy types. Use regular Xerneas for energy acceleration. Then use Aromatisse to move all energy to Xerneas-EX. Then use Fairy Garden to free retreat Xerneas-EX to your Active and hit with X-Blast for 140 [Add a Silver Bangle and that is 170 for an EX joined with a Laser and you OHKO most EXs]. Slurpuff protects your active from not being able to retreat. Next turn cycle the energy to another Xerneas-EX and free retreat to your Active. It is truely a vicious fairy cycle.
