It has feuded with SEVIPER for many generations. Its sharp claws are its biggest weapons.
feyblade
Modern version of Zangoose.
100 HP. Retreat: C. Weakness: Fighting x2
Ability: Paranoia.
As long as you have at least one card in your hand, treat every pokemon in play as if its name were ‘Seviper.”
C: Slash. 20.
CCC: Cutting Claw. If your opponent has a seviper in play, this attack does 40 damage plus 50 more damage.
Mantidactyle

“Excuse me Sir, but I believe your Seviper is unable to evolve in Raichu.”

feyblade
I totally wasn’t thinking when I designed that ability, other than trying to be facetious. If one wanted to scale Cutting Claw up without being tongue-in-cheek, the attack would just do 90 damage outright.
Still though, now that you bring it up, it would be hilarious and awesome if there were some (balanced) ability allowing the player to forcefully rename a pokemon.
Warnock 2022
